Itinerary
DAY 1: CUSCO - CITY TOUR + NEARBY RUINS
Arrival in the city of Cusco, reception and transfer to the selected hotel.
Rest of the morning free to acclimatize to the altitude of 3,350 meters above sea level. Approx.
At the coordinated time we will start picking you up from the hotels, to begin with the visit to the city and nearby ruins, we will visit KORICANCHA, the most sacred and important building of the Tahuantinsuyo empire, also known as Temple of the Sun.
We continue with the visit to the four ruins near Cusco: SACSAYHUAMAN (great fortress located 5 km from the city), QENQO (sacred amphitheater, center of worship to the god Puma, place where human sacrifices were made), PUCAPUCARA ("red fortress" due to the hue that acquires its rocks with the light of twilight) and TAMBOMACHAY (temple to worship the water). Return to the hotel.
Overnight in Cusco.
DAY 2: SACRED VALLEY
Breakfast at the hotel.
At the time of the tour we will pick you up at your hotel. Tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Tour of the town of Pisac, a picturesque colonial mestizo town. In the same way, on Sundays the mass is celebrated in Quechua. Then we visit on the way the towns of Ccoya, Lamay, Calca and Urubamba. Buffet lunch. In the afternoon, guided visit of the town of Ollantaytambo, where the archaeological park of Ollantaytambo is located, a gigantic agricultural, administrative, social, religious and military complex in the times of the Tahuantinsuyo.
Departure to Aguas Calientes by train.
Arrival in Aguas Calientes and transfer to the hotel of your choice.
Overnight in Machu Picchu.
DAY 3: SUNRISE IN MACHU PICCHU
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to Puente Ruinas station, where we will take the buses that will take us to the Lost City of the Incas, "Machu Picchu", discovered in 1911. We will enjoy a guided tour of the main buildings of the citadel such as: The Mirador, Temple of the Three Windows, The Intihuatana, The Main Square, etc. We will return to the town of Aguas Calientes where you will have free time for lunch.
Train back to the city.
Arrival in the city of Cusco and transfer to the chosen hotel.
Overnight in Cusco.
DAY 4: DEPARTURE TRANSFER
Breakfast at the hotel.
Timely departure transfer.
