Cusco is a city located in the region of Cusco, in southern Peru. It is the capital of the ancient Inca Empire and is considered the most important city of the Inca culture. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983. It has a population of about 400,000 inhabitants.

Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO - CITY TOUR + NEARBY RUINS

Arrival in the city of Cusco, reception and transfer to the selected hotel. 

Rest of the morning free to acclimatize to the altitude of 3,350m.a.s.l. approx.

At the coordinated time we will start picking you up from the hotels, to begin with the visit to the city and nearby ruins, we will visit KORICANCHA, the most sacred and important building of the Tahuantinsuyo empire, also known as Temple of the Sun.

We continue with the visit to the four ruins near Cusco: SACSAYHUAMAN (great fortress located 5 km from the city), QENQO (sacred amphitheater, center of worship to the god Puma, place where human sacrifices were made), PUCAPUCARA ("Red Fortress" due to the hue that acquires its rocks with the light of twilight) and TAMBOMACHAY (temple to worship the water). Return to the hotel.

DAY 2: SACRED VALLEY

At the time of the tour we will pick you up at your hotel. Tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Tour of the town of Pisac, a picturesque colonial mestizo town. In the same way, on Sundays the mass is celebrated in Quechua. Then we visit on the way the towns of Ccoya, Lamay, Calca and Urubamba. Buffet lunch. In the afternoon, guided visit of the town of Ollantaytambo, where the archaeological park of Ollantaytambo is located, a gigantic agricultural, administrative, social, religious and military complex in the times of the Tahuantinsuyo.

DAY 3: FULL DAY MACCHU PICCHU

A la hora coordinada recojo desde su hotel en Valle Sagrado, traslado a la estación de tren para iniciar nuestro viaje a la ciudadela de Machu Picchu. Luego de un recorrido de 2 y 1/2 Hrs. llegaremos a la estación Puente Ruinas, donde tomaremos los buses que nos llevarán a la Ciudad Perdida de los Incas, “Machu Picchu”, el más famoso ejemplar de arquitectura inca. Fue descubierta en 1911, por Hiram Bingham.  Disfrutaremos de una excursión guiada por las principales edificaciones de la ciudadela como: El Mirador, Templo de las Tres Ventanas, el Intihuatana, La Plaza Principal, etc. 

At the end of this tour we will take the bus down to the town of Aguas Calientes where you will have free time for lunch.

In the afternoon departure from the train station in Aguas Calientes.

Pm. Departure by train to the city of Cusco. Pm. Arrival to the city of Cusco and transfer to the hotel.

DÍA 4: FULL DAY MONTAÑA SIETE COLORES

One of the most spectacular geological formations in the world, the famous Vinicunca Mountain, also known as the Mountain of Seven Colors or the Rainbow Mountain. It has a combination of magical colors that delight the eye and enchant the traveler.

We leave early from your hotel, between 4 and 4:30 a.m., on our way to the town of Cusipata, where

We had breakfast around 7.00 am. After about 40 minutes more of walking, we start the two-hour hike to reach the legendary mountain, at about 5,020 meters above sea level. Once there you will be able to appreciate the wonderful combination of colors and geological soils, with time to take pictures of the incredible landscape and take a break. The return to mobility is 2 hours, and we will have lunch before returning to Cusco. 

Arrival at the hotel around 17:30 hrs.
