Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, the Biodiversity Capital of Peru, you will be met at the airport.

Then we will start our program with a bus tour of the city. Afterwards, we will go to Puerto Capitanía, where our boat will be waiting for us to navigate the Bajo Madre de Dios River (Serpenteante River), until we arrive at our lodge, located thirty kilometers from the city of Puerto Maldonado. On the way, you will be able to observe rural properties destined to agricultural and cattle raising activities near the city. If the weather is favorable, you will see colorful plants such as giant flowering heliconias, and the possibility of observing animals such as ronsocos, caimans, aquatic turtles, herons, cormorants, carrion birds and birds of prey. Upon arrival at our lodge, you will be welcomed with a delicious Amazonian tropical fruit nectar and taken to your comfortable room (bungalow), reserved for the occasion. Once settled in, a succulent lunch will be waiting for you in our cozy rustic dining room.

COCHA CAIMAN: In the afternoon, you will be driven by our specialized guide through an interpretative trail conveniently signposted to the Cocha Caiman, a small lagoon where you will have the chance to observe the black caiman and white caiman, efficient predators located at the top of the food chain, which live on the abundant water fauna of the oxbow lake, represented by fish species. Upon returning to the lodge, a delicious dinner will be waiting for you and you will have free time to share unforgettable moments in our bar, equipped with an excellent board game room and stocked with all the drinks you can imagine. The nocturnal fauna will be in charge of lulling you to sleep with the melody of an infinity of songs and voices of diverse birds.

Overnight at Lodge.

The magic begins with the bird songs of the Amazonian paradise, waking up to the song of the howler monkey. A succulent breakfast will provide you with the necessary energy for a morning full of new experiences.

LAKE SANDOVAL: After breakfast, we will start a boat trip upstream until we reach the entrance of Lake Sandoval, where we will begin a hike through lush tropical forest vegetation, following the path conveniently preserved and marked. Along the way, we will witness the most varied range of flora and fauna species in the wild. Once we arrive at the Sandoval Lake, we will take a rowing boat to enter the majestic lake for a dreamlike ride. Once there you will be able to observe various species in their natural state. You will be able to see birds such as parrots, parrots, toucans, some reptiles such as alligators, turtles and if we are lucky we can observe the majestic giant otters (Pteronura brasiliensis) in their natural habitat.

Lake Sandoval, majestic and attractive especially for those who like bird watching, thanks to the vegetation that has in its mangroves and surroundings is the habitat of many species of birds. After the walk and observation. We will begin the return to the lodge, with the walk back to the river and once there we will navigate the lower Madre de Dios River towards the lodge. Upon arrival at the lodge, a refreshing lunch will be waiting for you.

In the afternoon, accompanied by our specialized guide, we will visit Monkey Island, located a few minutes from the lodge in the heart of the Madre de Dios River. This island shows an enormous variety of exuberant flora and is home to numerous specimens of primates, such as the maquisapa, the capuchin and the puffin and leoncillo. In addition to other species of small mammals such as the coati (Nasua), the squirrel and a huge variety of colorful birds. Finally we will complete our visit of the island, enjoying the sunset, with the most impressive sunset in the jungle. Back at the lodge, you will enjoy an exquisite farewell dinner.

Overnight at Lodge.

After a restful night's sleep, once again the powerful vocalizations produced by the howler monkey will remind you that you are still in its domain and that it is time to leave.

Breakfast awaits you in our dining room before returning to Puerto Maldonado.
